If you asked 100 people for their most memorable phrases of the past few years, our guess is that Brexit and Fake News would rank pretty high on the final list.
Thanks to a press release from one of our leather industry colleagues, we’re able to address both topics in the following brief statement…
BREXIT CLAIMS – “EU BASED CUSTOMERS BUYING PRODUCTS FROM THE UK WILL ENCOUNTER THE FOLLOWING”
No change for EU-based customers of EU-made blades after 01.01.2021. All processes stay the same.
No change for Hardy customers in 2021, same great blade, quality and service without taking advantage of our customer without increasing prices.
Imperative customs declaration.
A minor change to documentation text is taken care of when we ensure our EORI No and a special Statement of Origin is on all paperwork. There is no additional charge or delay.
Import sales tax.
There is no import tax unless your business is not VAT registered… which is no change to pre-Brexit regulations. Our nominated freight forwarder liaises with their EU counterpart while consignment is in transit to ensure a smooth transition.
Potential EU-approval of goods.
Currently, there are no known approvals required for shaving and fleshing blades, copper caulking, or grinding wheels.
Extended customs handling times.
There are no extended customs times; Hardy is an experienced exporter with partners that are equipped with the correct documentation to maintain the seamless process of shipping Hardy products around the World, just as we always have done.
In spite of the Global Pandemic, Hardy has carried on serving our customers. Covid-19 did not prevent Hardy from implementing safe working practices which kept our people safe and the business open when others were closing down operations. Hardy was able to work safely and production continued. Our policy of keeping stock ready for our customers has resulted in us having plentiful stocks of fast-moving products ready and waiting to ship on demand. Plus our new property is nearing completion so we are investing in the future… and you’ll be hearing more about this very soon.
